Thank you for visiting our website!

It will become apparent as you navigate this site that our members are part of a church family here at the Sussex United Methodist Church. As such, we strive to develop and nurture connections which are important to any "successful" family.

We connect on an emotional level by truly caring about one another. We pride ourselves in knowing one another's name, families and interests.

The sharing of those interests creates opportunities for social connections amongst our church family members. From our youth to our "mature" adults, and all ages in between, many activites exist that create and foster not only simple fellowship but lifelong friendships.

The most important bond we share here at SUMC is our connection on a spiritual level. From our dynamic worship service to our Christian education offerings for all ages to our work in local and national missions, we inspire one another on our journeys as we continue to grow with God.

Our mission: To feed others as Christ feeds us.

Collecting Hat & Mittens!

SUMC and Noah’s Ark will once again be collecting hats, mittens and scarves for the Sussex Food Pantry. Our mitten tree can be decorated with new or handmade cold-weather items. These items will be taken to the food pantry on Friday, December 15th, just in time for their Christmas gift distribution. Any items put on the tree after that date will be taken to the food pantry before Christmas. Non-perishable food items can be put under the tree and those will also be delivered to the pantry!

Vigil and Silent Communion

Our Lord encouraged his disciples to keep watch. A vigil is a period of purposeful sleeplessness, an occasion for devotional watching. This all-night prayer vigil - from 6:00 pm, December 31st to 6:00 am, January 1st - is centered around how our congregation can move forward with energy and confidence in the year ahead. Any and all are invited to share this vigil for as little as long as you feel willing or able. Classic vigil music will play while Silent Communion will be available at the altar throughout the night. A special board will be available to post prayer requests that anyone would like to have lifted up during the vigil.
